LOVE IS LIKE THE WIND. YOU CANNOT SEE IT, BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS FEEL IT.
When a prank goes wrong in school, Landon Carter (Shane West) is punished by having to participate in a play; he gets to know Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) who happens to be the daughter of a priest. There is nothing original about it, but this is an example of a teen drama that actually works because of the conviction of the actors and the filmmakers’ earnest intentions. The script is clichéd, but somehow the characters never become flat. Moore had a pop career going when she appeared in this film and is quite good as the confident but secretive Jamie; West matches her well.
