Frank Beardsley (Dennis Quaid) meets his high school sweetheart Helen North (Rene Russo) again; the widowed couple fall in love and move into a new house… along with their 18 children. A Raja Gosnell-ified remake of a classic 1968 family film, meaning every real emotion has been replaced with dull slapstick, cute Hollywood brats and utter predictability. The stars do their best and almost compensate for the idiotic ingredients, but this film ultimately looks like something Steve Martin rejected at an early stage.
