Dreamcatcher

FOUR FRIENDS HUNG A DREAMCATCHER IN THEIR CABIN. IT’S ABOUT TO CATCH SOMETHING IT CANNOT STOP.

Four friends with extrasensory powers gather on a snowy day in a cabin, little realizing that they will end up in the middle of a hunt for nasty aliens. One fine director and one fine screenwriter somehow manage to turn this Stephen King thriller into a complete mess. Morgan Freeman is a predictable nutcase in uniform, the visual effects are nothing special and the movie goes on forever, turning increasingly silly. Still, the winter scenario is handsome.

2003-U.S. 131 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Lawrence Kasdan. Screenplay: Lawrence Kasdan, William Goldman. Novel: Stephen King. Cast: Morgan Freeman (Abraham Curtis), Thomas Jane (Henry Devlin), Jason Lee (Joe ā€œBeaverā€ Clarenden), Damian Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Sizemore.

Trivia: King allegedly sold the movie rights for one dollar.
