BILLY CHAPEL MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN THE WOMAN HE LOVES AND THE GAME HE LIVES FOR.
As star pitcher Billy Chapel (Kevin Costner) is playing a pivotal game, he starts thinking about the past years in his life, and his relationship with Jane Aubrey (Kelly Preston). Costner and baseball are inseparable. The stars are pretty bland, but I guess he’s the right actor for this sentimental flick that could have been moving and insightful if only the script had been good enough. It doesn’t introduce anything that makes the romance or Costner’s problems particularly interesting. In the end, we need more if we’re going to reach for our hankies.
