Two runaway convicts (Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy) go to Scotland where one of them is set to get an inheritance, but that experience lands them in India. The classic adventure flick The Lives of a Bengal Lancer opened in theaters that same year and this minor Laurel & Hardy film is a semi-spoof of it, turning our heroes into involuntary soldiers in colonial India. Thereās not much adventure, and the thin romance takes up far too much room, but there are a few nice comedy routines, including the litter-picking one.Ā
