Where the Money Is

ANOTHER CON. ANOTHER STING. ANOTHER DAY.

Carol McKay (Linda Fiorentino) is nursing a legendary bank robber (Paul Newman) who just suffered a stroke in prison… but she realizes that he’s faking it and sees an opportunity to change her life. A likable heist movie that offers an aging movie star the irresistible chance to play a scoundrel who finds a much younger partner to carry out one last score. He’s fun, and perfectly matched by Fiorentino whose character is a lot more interesting than her boyfriend (Dermot Mulroney). Entertaining at first, but turns far too predictable (especially in the ending).

2000-U.S. 89 min. Color. Directed by Marek Kanievska. Cast: Paul Newman (Henry Manning), Linda Fiorentino (Carol McKay), Dermot Mulroney (Wayne McKay), Susan Barnes, Anne Pitoniak, Bruce MacVittie.
