Pushing Tin

A COMEDY ABOUT LIFE, LOVE, AIRPLANES AND OTHER BUMPY RIDES.

pushingtinMysterious air-traffic controller Russell Bell (Billy Bob Thornton) gets a job at a New York airport; one of his colleagues, Nick Falzone (John Cusack), ā€œaccidentallyā€ sleeps with his wife. The best part of this movie is its both humorous and sober portrayal of life in front of a computer screen with dots representing planes in the air. Lives are at stake, everyone in the room is always close to a nervous breakdown, but to some of them this is a huge turn-on. The story would have been even better if the filmmakers had delved deeper into the relationships on display; the acting is quite good though.

1999-U.S. 124 min. Color. Widescreen.Ā Directed byĀ Mike Newell.Ā Cast:Ā John Cusack (Nick Falzone), Billy Bob Thornton (Russell Bell), Cate Blanchett (Connie Falzone), Angelina Jolie (Mary Bell), Jake Weber, Vicki Lewis.
