HE WAS TRAINED TO FOLLOW ORDERS. HE BECAME A HERO BY DEFYING THEM.
When innocent civilians are trapped in a situation like the one in the movie, neutrality must be abandoned and the West must do what it takes to protect those civilians – that is the message the filmmakers are trying to convey here. They do it through a small group of Navy SEALs who are forced to make difficult decisions while trying to rescue a doctor (Monica Bellucci) in the Nigerian jungle. Well told and convincingly shot in the inhospitable jungle, but the proceedings become a bit too formulaic near the ending. Still, Bruce Willis is quite good as the group’s leader.
