SEE HOW THEY RUN.

Convicts Charles Piper and Mark Dodge (Laurence Fishburne, Stephen Baldwin) may be chained to each other, but they manage to escape; now they’re hunted by the cops as well as the Mafia… The screenwriter wastes no time piling on the film references. The leading couple remind me of Lethal Weapon and they’re chained together just like in The Defiant Ones; the story is vaguely reminiscent of The Fugitive (I repeat, vaguely). Director Kevin Hooks made Passenger 57 (1992), so he knows how to keep a thin story going; there’s plenty of action.
