Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

HE’S UP PAST HIS BEDTIME IN THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS.

homealone2Kevin’s (Macaulay Culkin) family is ready for another vacation, but this time he gets lost in New York and runs into some familiar burglars… If I were a member of this family I’d think we were stuck inĀ Groundhog Day; this is virtually a remake of the first film. Everything is more contrived and over-the-top, but I still can’t help laugh at Daniel Stern getting not one but many bricks in the head, like in a Road RunnerĀ cartoon. He and Joe Pesci do a great job, Tim Curry likewise as the unctuous concierge. Still, too long, too saccharine.

1992-U.S. 120 min. Color. Produced and written byĀ John Hughes. Directed byĀ Chris Columbus. Cast: Macaulay Culkin (Kevin McCallister), Joe Pesci (Harry), Daniel Stern (Marv), Catherine O’Hara, John Heard, Tim Curry… Rob Schneider, Kieran Culkin. Cameo: Donald Trump.

Trivia:Ā Followed byĀ Home Alone 3Ā (1997).
