The architecture of waste: the AR at the 2022 Milan Salone del Mobile

Join Laboratorio Permanente, Baubüro In Situ, Electrolux and The Architectural Review to talk about waste in our kitchens, buildings and cities

‘We need new imaginaries for architecture which can take into account and document not just heroic heaps, but the evil banality of ruinous piles’ wrote Hélène Frichot in the AR Waste issue.

On Wednesday 8 June, the AR will host a public event titled ‘The architecture of waste: from the spoon to the city’ in Milan, with speakers from Laboratorio Permanente, Baubüro In Situ and Electrolux. Taking different sites as starting points – a kitchen cupboard, a factory extension and an urban park – the panel discussion will look at ways to reduce waste and present ideas to encourage more reuse, repair and recycling in the spaces of everyday life.

Waste is an end and a beginning. It needs to be made visible, and become a subject of debate. Register for free and join us in Milan on Wednesday 8 June for an evening of presentations and conversations.`
