AR Emerging 2025

It is often the experimental work of architects at the beginning of their careers that addresses the most pressing challenges facing the planet. The November issue revisits three such projects, recognised in historical editions of the AR Emerging awards, by Li Xiaodong, Barkow Leibinger and Ahadu Abaineh. This issue also features profiles of the 15 finalists of the 2025 AR Emerging awards, including architects who mine existing buildings for their materials, experiment with bio-based building systems such as rammed earth and cork, and breathe new life into neglected corners of the city.
