Former UFC fighter Jackie Justice (Halle Berry) is now a housecleaner with a drinking problem; when her young son (Danny Boyd, Jr.) suddenly comes into her life, she tries to mount a comeback in the cage. Making comparisons with Rocky (1976) whenever thereās a new movie about a down-and-out boxer or fighter may seem lazy, but thereās no avoiding it in Berryās directing debut, especially in that final bout that follows the formula to a T. Overlong and grim, the film still has effective moments and a strong lead performance.
