Wide-eyed makeup artist Kika (Verónica Forqué) becomes involved with an American writer (Peter Coyote) in Madrid and his traumatized son (Alex Casanovas). One of Pedro Almodóvar’s lesser films intended to satirize the media, symbolized by a former shrink who’s become a TV sensation, throwing herself into dangerous situations with a camera attached to her head. Too much of the film is silly, made worse by a long, dumb rape scene that’s meant to be funny. And why hire Coyote as an American if you’re gonna dub him anyway?
