The Tomorrow War

In the near future, biology teacher Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) is drafted along with many others and sent through a wormhole device to fight a war against an alien race. An Independence Day for our times, featuring exhilarating battles with a fearsome, bloodthirsty alien species called ”the Whitespikes”. Very intense, well-crafted action sequences and the design of the monsters is terrifying… but the film becomes less effective whenever focus lies on the Foresters’ family issues. Cheesy at times (including the dialogue), far from original and too long, but fun; Yvonne Strahovski is very good.

2021-U.S. VOD. 138 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Chris McKay. Cast: Chris Pratt (Dan Forester), Yvonne Strahovski (Muri Forester), J.K. Simmons (James Forester), Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge.

Trivia: Co-produced by David S. Goyer; co-executive produced by Pratt. Originally scheduled for a theatrical release, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed plans.
