Space Jam: A New Legacy

THEY’RE ALL TUNED UP FOR A REMATCH.

LeBron James and his son (Cedric Joe) go to Warner Brothers where they are sucked into a virtual space; in order to save his son, James has to win a game together with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes. A reboot for a new generation, built pretty much the same way as the 1996 original. James’s charisma isn’t on Michael Jordan’s level, but what’s worse is Warner’s constant, smug self-promotion and the noisy but soulless Looney Tunes.

2021-U.S. 115 min. Color. Directed by Malcolm D. Lee. Cast: LeBron James, Don Cheadle (Al-G Rhythm), Cedric Joe (Dominic ”Dom” James), Sonequa Martin-Green, Khris Davis. Voices of Jeff Bergman, Eric Bauza, Zendaya, Bob Bergen. Cameo: Michael B. Jordan.

Trivia: Co-produced by James and Ryan Coogler; co-executive produced by Ivan Reitman. Justin Lin was reportedly first hired to direct.

Razzies: Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, Actor (James), Screen Couple (James and any Warner cartoon character he dribbles on).
