Oslo

HOW DO ENEMIES FIND COMMON GROUND?

In 1993, two Norwegian diplomats (Ruth Wilson, Andrew Scott), who are also married, talk Palestinian and Israeli representatives into secret negotiations. This adaptation of the play may lose some of its relevance due to the fact that the conflict between Israel and Palestine remains unsolved and hopeless, but the Oslo accords were nevertheless a historic deal and the fact that the negotiations were so unorthodox makes it interesting. Wilson and Scott’s characters are far less engaging than the arguments between the Middle Eastern negotiators, but it’s handsomely filmed.
