WHO SHOT BIGGIE?
Jackson (Forest Whitaker), a reporter, teams up with former LAPD detective Russell Poole (Johnny Depp) to look into the 1997 murder of Christopher Wallace, The Notorious B.I.G., an event Poole has never been able to put behind him. Most attempts to bring clarity to this case have only resulted in more questions and this confusion mars a film that portrays a police department suffering from racial tensions. Nothing interesting really comes out of it, even if several ingredients (including the locations and Deppās performance) are fine.
