Yung Lean: In My Head

A documentary from music journalist and filmmaker Henrik Burman in the vein of Avicii: True Stories (2017), which also depicted a Swedish talent who found success abroad but came to suffer from problems related to drugs and mental issues. We follow Jonatan Leandoer HĆ„stad who became a popular hiphop performer under the moniker of Yung Lean in the early 2010s but soon fell victim to a troubled lifestyle in the U.S.; when we meet him in this film heā€™s still recovering. Depicting a music business unable to protect its young artists, itā€™s a well-made film, even if it takes quite some time before Yung Lean (not really well-known to a mainstream audience) is properly introduced.

2020-Sweden. 96 min. Color. Directed byĀ Henrik Burman.
