JUSTICE COMES DOWN TO HIM.
Retired Marine Jim Hanson (Liam Neeson), who lives right on the border to Mexico, suddenly finds himself fighting to keep an immigrant boy (Jacob Perez) safe from a cartel. Part of this rural action-thriller looks like a Western, part of it feels like the ultimate Neeson homage to Clint Eastwood; the latter even makes an appearance in a movie Neeson and Perez are watching. Never rises above the humdrum, unable to generate enough of the kind of emotion and tension that the filmmakers are going for.
