After spending 12 years in prison, Eddie Palmer (Justin Timberlake) comes home to live with his grandmother (June Squibb), but has no idea how his encounter with a boy called Sam (Ryder Allen) will change his life. Everything about this movie is thoroughly familiar; there isnât a moment where you canât figure out what will happen next. Good thing then that the filmmakers are skilled enough to make it all work to satisfaction, hitting all the right emotional cues and finding the right actors. Squibb makes grandma a joy to watch⊠and then thereâs young Allen, superb as the flamboyant Sam.
