While Fredrik (Linus Wahlgren) is away working, his girlfriend (Dilan Gwyn) and son (Eddie Eriksson Dominguez) learn that they may not be as alone in their new house as they thought. This is not a horror movie that offers something fresh. On the contrary, the filmmakers borrow heavily from predecessors like James Wan and David F. Sandberg. There are nods to The Conjuring and The Shining. Still, even if you can cross off every expected ingredient from a list, it’s not wrong to be inspired by the best. There’s a lot of effort behind it, with effective scares, satisfying visual effects and a good cast.
