When a mysterious American (Nat Wolff) shows up in northern Norway and accidentally kills a teenager, a young psychologist (Iben Akerlie) witnesses the awesome powers that he’s struggling with. The director of Troll Hunter (2010) returned to Nordic mythology for this thriller, now borrowing from gods (or is it the Hulk?) rather than trolls. Majestic fjord views are a fine backdrop for a movie with uneven visual effects and a story that becomes a little static. The lead characters are morose rather than charismatic.
