Greyhound

THE ONLY THING MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE FRONT LINES WAS THE FIGHT TO GET THERE.

In 1942, a convoy of Allied ships are trying to get through the North Atlantic without being sunk by a wolfpack of German U-boats. Tom Hanks returns to World War II, committed as always to getting historical facts rightā€¦ perhaps a little too much, because thereā€™s a lot of technical lingo to muddle through. Still, the filmmakers use the short running time to great effect, building a lot of tension as the wolfpack (whoā€™s given a terrifically eerie, howling music theme) and Hanksā€™s destroyer keep hunting each other. Heā€™s solid, but we donā€™t learn much about his character.
