Wealthy student Gatsby Welles (Timothée Chalamet) spends a rainy day in New York, hoping to show his girlfriend (Elle Fanning) the city; meantime, she’s hanging with a filmmaker that she intends to interview. Primarily remembered as the film that was shunned in the U.S. by several cast members and its studio in the wake of sexual-abuse allegations against Woody Allen. A rainy day (Allen’s favorite weather) has never looked more stunning than in the hands of a master like Vittorio Storaro. The story is thin, but enjoyable enough thanks to the cast; Chalamet has the traditional Allen role.
