TRY TO REMAIN CALM.
Army virologist Sam Daniels (Dustin Hoffman) investigates the outbreak of a mysterious and highly deadly virus in Zaire, not realizing that soon he’ll be fighting to contain it in the United States. Inspired by the sensational, reality-based book ”The Hot Zone”, this film takes the safest Hollywood route and turns into a military thriller where Donald Sutherland’s jingoistic general must be defeated before he kills thousands of people. The depiction of how an Ebola-like virus spreads among people is far scarier; effectively staged, with a great music score and a terrific hero in the shape of Hoffman.
