IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, YOU HAVE TO ASK BILL WYMAN.Ā
This documentary presents Bill Wyman as the most anonymous member of the Rolling Stones, the quiet one who was a ladiesā man, but always the loyal bass guitarist, never one to steal attention. He was there from the beginning in 1962 and played with the band until 1993; we learn about his passions and what motivates him today. He should have been a remarkably engaging witness to the history of the band, but isnāt really. The film is slick, but in spite of dramatic events like the violent and chaotic Altamont concert in 1969 and Wymanās headline-grabbing marriage to the 18-year-old Mandy Smith, the subject of the documentary has very little to say about it.Ā
