When a crime boss discovers a break somewhere in the supply chain of cocaine stretching from South America to Canada, he sends two unlikely operatives (Nicolas Cage, Laurence Fishburne) on the trail. You can sense a certain ambition in the director’s script as he follows the drug trade on several levels. But this is no Traffic (2000). The film is full of irrelevant characters, misplaced humor and dead ends, killing any chance of suspense. Fishburne looks like he’s having fun though.
