THE LEGEND GETS SOME FRESH BLOOD.
What initially looked promising, a fresh take on the Dracula myth from the creators of Sherlock, turned out to be a huge disappointment. Each episode has a new setting. Focus lies on an eternal battle between the suave, taunting vampire and his confident, wily nemesis who appears as a nun in the first episode; in modern times, Dolly Wells plays Agatha’s relative. Claes Bang seems to relish his part as the count and the writers are having fun with multiple references to previous Dracula films… but it’s wildly uneven; too silly and too talky at times.
