When the mayor of Lyon, Paul Théraneau (Fabrice Luchini), finds that he has run out of ideas, he hires a young woman (Anaïs Demoustier) who’s taught philosophy. A political drama focusing on the intellectual relationship between the mayor, a potential Socialist presidential candidate, and the somewhat bewildered woman he hires as an advisor. Her role is far from clear, but he needs a different kind of input than what he’s usually getting. Very talky and doesn’t really lead anywhere; misses a chance to be relevant for our times.
