PREPARE FOR THE RIDESHARE OF YOUR LIFE.
After having laser eye surgery that temporarily leaves him with very poor eyesight, L.A. detective Vic Manning (Dave Bautista) suddenly finds himself having to rely on an Uber driver (Kumail Nanjiani) in the hunt for a drug lord. A very formulaic action-comedy that harks back to 1980s buddy movies, forcing a hulk of a man (Bautista) to collaborate with a mild-mannered driver (Nanjiani) who just wants to survive the evening. Both actors wisely rely on their strengths and make the movie enjoyable enough, in spite of a very tiresome twist and mediocre action.
