Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

MEET THE WOMEN BEHIND THE MAN BEHIND THE WOMEN.

In the late 1920s, two married researchers (Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall) are working together when a student (Bella Heathcote) comes into their lives; eventually, they embark on a polyamorous relationship, their experiments leading to the creation of Wonder Woman. Angela Robinson took creative license in her portrait of these three people and some of the facts have been disputed, but there’s no doubt she’s come up with an intriguing, convention-busting background for a comic-book character that became a feminist icon. The treatment may be traditional, but it’s a good cast.

2017-U.S. 108 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Angela Robinson. Cast: Luke Evans (William Moulton Marston), Rebecca Hall (Elizabeth Holloway Marston), Bella Heathcote (Olivia Byrne), Monica Giordano, JJ Feild, Chris Conroy… Oliver Platt, Connie Britton.
