NEW ANIMALS. NEW ADVENTURES. SAME HAIR.
After a tragedy, Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) has retreated to a Tibetan monastery, but is located by a British correspondent (Ian McNeice) who needs him to find a sacred bat in Africa. The sequel came only a year after the first movie, but this time the budget was higher and Carrey had become a huge star. The movie ratchets up the crazy, offering a few moments that are so ridiculous you can’t help but snicker at them, such as a parody of Cliffhanger (1993) and a scene where Ace is sweating inside a mechanical rhino.
