Investigative journalist Hannes Råstam (Jonas Karlsson) examines the case of Sweden’s most notorious serial killer, realizing that it could be a scandal of epic proportions. Mikael Håfström returned to Sweden to tell the real-life story of Thomas Quick, convicted of eight murders and subsequently cleared of them all, and the reporter who exposed the affair shortly before dying of cancer. The filmmakers are initially too fond of empty horror effects, but after a while the movie settles into more or less a black comedy, highlighting the many absurd aspects of the case. Outstanding lead performances.
