The Tomorrow Man

Ed Hemsler (John Lithgow) is spending his retirement (time and money) preparing for an apocalypse that he knows will come; in Ronnie Meisner (Blythe Danner), he thinks heā€™s found a soulmateā€¦ The directorā€™s first feature is a pleasant but bland meditation on what would happen if a devoted prepper found his exact opposite and fell in love; the story also examines an awkward bond between father and son. Boosted by Lithgow, and Danner has a certain befuddled charm, but there isnā€™t much to the script ā€“ even if the last scene is an example of its quirkier moments.

2019-U.S. 94 min. Color. Widescreen. Written, directed and photographed byĀ Noble Jones. Cast: John Lithgow (Ed Hemsler), Blythe Danner (Ronnie Meisner), Derek Cecil (Brian Hemsler), Katie Aselton, Sophie Thatcher, Eve Harlow.
