Shock and Awe

Shortly after 9/11, a group of Washington reporters find out that the Bush Administration is preparing to attack Iraq based on lies and faulty intelligence. This story is interesting as a reminder for reporters to always dig deeper and not just blindly trust the most obvious sources. But as a movie it doesn’t have much of a pulse, delivering predictable political points in a clumsy way. The cast may be fine, but the characters never come alive and the supporting female roles are wasted.

2018-U.S. 90 min. Color. Directed by Rob Reiner. Cast: Woody Harrelson (Jonathan Landay), James Marsden (Warren Strobel), Rob Reiner (John Walcott), Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Biel, Milla Jovovich.

Trivia: Co-produced by Reiner.
