FRIENDSHIP IS A TRIP.
In order to celebrate Rebecca’s (Rachel Dratch) 50th birthday, her friends take her on a trip to Napa Valley where they engage in wine-drinking and truth-telling. Amy Poehler’s directing debut must be seen as a project among friends, because there are countless Saturday Night Live talents in front of and behind the camera. This cast is a treat to watch, not least Paula Pell who’s better known as an ace comedy writer. Nothing sensationally insightful happens in the movie, but it’s funny, pleasant, has lush locations and engagingly reflects the challenges of turning 50, soon entering Golden Girls territory…
