Dressed to Kill

QUEEN… OF A CRIME CULT!

A gang of criminals are trying to locate three music boxes with a secret hidden inside that were made in prison. The fourteenth and last in this Sherlock Holmes series is also the weakest, its thrills looking fairly mediocre in comparison with the adventures of the last two films. The mystery of the music boxes, loosely based on an original Conan Doyle story, doesnā€™t hold much tension, even if Patricia Morison turns out to be an alluring and resourceful opponent to Holmes.Ā

1946-U.S. 72 min. B/W. Directed byĀ Roy William Neill. Short Story: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (ā€The Adventure of the Six Napoleonsā€). Cast: Basil Rathbone (Sherlock Holmes), Nigel Bruce (John Watson), Patricia Morison (Hilda Courtney), Edmond Breon, Carl Harbord, Patricia Cameron.

Trivia: Alternative title: Prelude to Murder. Released in Britain as Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Code.
