Brexit: The Uncivil War

MEET THE MAN WHO ALTERED THE HISTORY OF BRITAIN.

Political strategist Dominic Cummings (Benedict Cumberbatch) is reluctantly drawn into action after two years away from Westminster; now he’s tasked with heading the Leave campaign in the upcoming Brexit vote. Based on thorough research, this TV movie examines the national mood during the run-up to the 2016 Brexit referendum and how the Leave campaign won with just the right amount of xenophobia and dirty tricks. Well-balanced in the portrait of voters’ concerns, but Cummings remains a frustrating enigma, played by Cumberbatch in Sherlock mode.

2019-Britain. Made for TV. 92 min. Color. Directed by Toby Haynes. Cast: Benedict Cumberbatch (Dominic Cummings), Rory Kinnear (Craig Oliver), John Heffernan (Matthew Elliott), Gavin Spokes, Liz White, Kyle Soller.
