The 15:17 to Paris

A TRUE STORY. THE REAL HEROES.

After making Sully (2016), Clint Eastwood turned to another dramatic story based on real events – the 2015 terror attack on a French train where three Americans helped subdue the perpetrator with no lives lost. Unfortunately, the decision to cast the actual heroes from the attack in the leads hurts the film since its focus lies on flashbacks that require greater acting skills. A dull movie, except for the actual attack. Displaying the courage of these guys, it is nonetheless over in minutes.

2018-U.S. 94 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Clint Eastwood. Book: Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone, Jeffrey E. Stern. Cast: Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Judy Greer, Jenna Fischer, Ray Corasani… Tony Hale, Thomas Lennon.

Trivia: Co-produced by Eastwood. The final scenes show actual footage of Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos receiving the Legion of Honor from President François Hollande.
