IT’S ABOUT COMPROMISE. IT’S ABOUT LOVE.
This remake of About Last Nightā¦ (1986) is not necessarily closer to David Mametās original play, but still an improvement on the first film. The setting has been changed to Los Angeles and we follow two male friends (Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy) as they embark on very different relationships with two female friends (Regina Hall, Joy Bryant). Seasons change, there are ups and downs; maybe Mamet didnāt love this version either, but it has a satisfying contemporary feel to it. Pleasantly directed, the film gets a boost from funny performances by Hart and Hall as the kind of people where sparks always fly when they meet, for good and bad.
