BE THE AUTHOR OF YOUR OWN STORY.
The daughter of the famous Swedish childrenās author Astrid Lindgren criticized this biopic for focusing on a chapter of her life that the author was less than willing to talk about. As a teenager Astrid had a fling with the considerably older editor of a local newspaper and gave birth to a boy whom for legal reasons she had to place in the care of a Danish foster family. A highly dramatic part of the budding writerās life, so no wonder thereās a movie. Alba August is excellent in the lead and the film has attractive production values, offering lots of clues for fans of the writer as to what inspired her stories.
