TEENS OUT TO HAVE FUN. PARENTS OUT TO STOP IT.

When they find out that their teen daughters have formed a sex pact ahead of prom night, three parents (Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz, John Cena) who’ve known each other since their daughters first met try to stop them. A raunchy comedy in the vein of The Hangover (2009), but with a twist – the roles usually reserved for teenage males are now played by girls who are allowed to have a normal sex drive. Sounds obvious, but the director (in her feature film debut) makes us see how unusual this is in a Hollywood movie. At its best when it’s focusing on the three girls; the parents deliver a few big laughs, but the story is uneven.

2018-U.S. 102 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Kay Cannon. Cast: Leslie Mann (Lisa Decker), Ike Barinholtz (Hunter), John Cena (Mitchell), Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, Gideon Adlon… Gary Cole, Gina Gershon.

Trivia: Co-produced by Seth Rogen.
