LIVES ARE ON THE LINE.
On the same day that he’s fired, insurance salesman Michael McCauley (Liam Neeson) is approached by a mysterious woman (Vera Farmiga) on his commute home; she has a strange but lucrative offer… The fourth collaboration between Neeson and the director is an appealing thriller with a Hitchcock vibe that largely takes place on a train where our hero has to find an unidentified person or his family will suffer. Neeson is an ideal everyman hero symbolizing a middle class squeezed by Wall Street, but considering how preposterous the story is we shouldn’t think too hard about it. Just enjoy the action and thrills, of which there are plenty.
