NO WAY OUT. NO WAY UP. NO CHANCE IN HELL.
While on holiday in Mexico, two American sisters (Mandy Moore, Claire Holt) go out on a boat to watch great whites from a cage… but when they’re in the water, an accident happens. A thriller that came in the wake of The Shallows (2016) and presents a similarly isolated situation that looks impossible to survive; since this one takes place in a cage on the bottom of the sea the sense of claustrophobia is palpable. The filmmakers come up with ways to make the premise last throughout, offering a tragic twist near the end that’s logical. The two leads are easily relatable and the sharks look convincing enough.
