Ferdinand

BUILT TO FIGHT. BORN TO LOVE.

A Spanish bull called Ferdinand grows up preferring to smell the flowers rather than fighting with the other bulls; however, he finds it hard to escape whatā€™s considered his destiny. The Ice Age and Rio directorā€™s adaptation of a classic childrenā€™s book was previously filmed by Disney as a short, Ferdinand the Bull (1938). This one falls rather comfortably into its formula and offers a reasonable amount of 3D fun and adventure as Ferdinand meets new friends, including a wacky goat energetically voiced by Kate McKinnon. The film even has a ā€meat is murderā€ message, with a visit to a horrifying slaughterhouse.Ā

2017-U.S. Animated. 106 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Carlos Saldanha. Book: Munro Leaf, Robert Lawson (ā€The Story of Ferdinandā€). Song: ā€Homeā€ (Nick Jonas, Justin Tranter, Nick Monson). Voices of John Cena (Ferdinand), Kate McKinnon (Lupe), David Tennant (Angus), Bobby Cannavale, Anthony Anderson, Peyton Manning.
