Big Game

THE PRESIDENT HAS ONE SMALL CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.

When Air Force One is shot down by terrorists in the Finnish wilderness, President William Alan Moore (Samuel L. Jackson) has to rely on the experience of a local, 13-year-old boy (Onni Tommila) who’s armed with a bow and arrows… You don’t often get to see a Finnish action movie, and especially not one with this kind of budget and Hollywood names. Clearly inspired by genre movies from the ’80s and ’90s, this one doesn’t care about credibility but offers an OK quantity of fun. Jackson and Tommila are a truly odd couple. Obviously shot in a more mountainous area than Finland (the Alps, in fact).

2015-Finland. 90 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Jalmari Helander. Cast: Samuel L. Jackson (William Alan Moore), Onni Tommila (Oskari), Ray Stevenson (Morris), Victor Garber, Jim Broadbent, Felicity Huffman.
