Flesh for Frankenstein

BRINGS THE HORROR OFF THE SCREEN… AND INTO YOUR LAP.Ā

Baron von Frankenstein (Udo Kier), whoā€™s married to his sister (Monique van Vooren), tries to create a perfect Serbian super human, assembled from parts of various corpses. The collaboration between Andy Warhol and director Paul Morrissey resulted in two re-imaginings of classic horror tales, this one and Blood for Dracula (1974). Hilariously terrible, with hysterical efforts from the cast (especially Kier as the insane, fascist baron). Gross makeup effects by Carlo Rambaldi, but sex and violence mix in ridiculous ways.

1974-Italy-France. 95 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Paul Morrissey. Cast: Joe Dallesandro (Nicholas), Udo Kier (Baron von Frankenstein), Monique van Vooren (Katrin Frankenstein), Arno Juerging, Dalila Di Lazzaro, Srdjan Zelenovic.

Trivia: Alternative title: Andy Warholā€™s Frankenstein. Also released in a 3D version.
