IF MY MEMORY OF HER HAS AN EXPIRATION DATE, LET IT BE 10,000 YEARS…
One of the movies that impressed Quentin Tarantino to the degree that he started his own distribution company just to make sure they got a U.S. release. Consisting of two stories told in sequence, we are first introduced to a cop (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and a mysterious woman in a blonde wig (Brigitte Lin), then to another cop (Tony Leung) who becomes the object of interest to a quirky girl (Faye Wong) in a snack bar. The first part is easily overshadowed by the longer and more emotional second part, a love story where Fayeās behavior will either charm or repel audiences. Vividly directed, with visual touches similar to Godardās.
