THE PIRATES MAP, THE VILLAINOUS CROOKS, THE UNDERGROUND CAVERNS, THE BOOBY TRAPS, THE SKELETONS, THE MONSTER, THE LOST TREASURE, AND THE MAGIC THAT IS THE GOONIES…
A group of kids in Astoria, Oregon who call themselves ”the Goonies” find an old map that could lead them to a pirate’s treasure, but they get competition from a family of criminals. One year after Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom came this adventure film for kids, co-executive produced by Steven Spielberg and co-starring Ke Huy Quan. Suffering from the same kind of over-the-top intensity, adults may find the constant screaming a bit too much. The story is rather weak, but the movie has gained a cult audience and benefits from a lively cast of kids, lovely Oregon locations and high spirits.
